Vancouver, Washington – Portland, Oregon
Oh, the blessed life that I have! If you are all updated with blog posts you know that I was really worried about spending this holiday season without my family. However, this Thanksgiving turned out better than I thought that it would!
We (me, Sean my bf, his parents and sister) left Thursday morning around 3:30am to get to the Vegas Airport (about an hour and a half drive), flew to the Portland, Oregon airport (about a 2 hour flight), drove over to Vancouver, Washington (about a 20 minute drive) to stay at Sean’s uncle’s house. Then we ate lots of Thanksgiving food and settled in for the night 🙂
Throughout the extended holiday weekend we visited the Beacon Trailhead National Park and hiked up the Beacon Trailhead. The view was beautiful!! After that we went exploring to see Malnomha Falls, and it turned out to be a historical weekend for the waterfall due to a lot of rain. It was way cool!!!!
We also stopped for food at this hole-in-the-wall diner and had THE BEST Clam Chowder I’ve ever had!!!
Bonneville Hatchery was our last stop for the day. Here we saw how salmon and trout fish are grown to full potential and released back into the Columbian River, and the Sturgeon View Center. I didn’t even know what a Sturgeon was! They are a dinosaur fish… Like still living!! So cool!!!!
My wish is for everyone to visit there one day! Here are some photos and the vlog from the trip
